13-5 Victory in first league match

Newport Beach— March 18, 2021 — The HBHS Varsity Girls Tennis Team crushed Corona del Mar High School Varsity team 13-5.  They started the 2021 Spring Season in glorious fashion by dominating the reigning CIF Division I Champions. The singles players won all 9 of their matches.  And, the doubles team walked away with 4 wins.

This was an amazing victory, showing the team’s high level of excellence.

Varsity Coach Pat Wright proclaimed that, “This team has the strongest lineup in team history.”

Last year, the Varsity team finished second in Sunset League finals to Corona del Mar and finished top four in the CIF Division I Southern Section Finals.

Watch for news of more Oiler victories in the next two months.  Sunset League finals are currently scheduled for the beginning of May.  CIF finals are currently unscheduled due to the uncertainty created by Covid.
